Frank buys grapes and presses from his backyard.
He’s been pressing grapes to make wine, with his father Paul, since 1959! He mainly presses Shiraz and Cab Sav grapes, but Paul also loves his Grenache.
We met Frank today and he shared his story.
From the selection of grapes from locals, to the pressing steps he follows, to the timings of his bottling, Frank’s is a very organic wine making process as uses no additives or enhancers.
He says, “commercial wines with sulphur give me headaches”.
Frank’s father Paul is not as well as he used to be, and this may very well be their last press for a few years.
We have caught their story in time.
They will be bottling this batch just before summer. We will revisit to see how the brew is going.
